Biopheropoint

Capture flying insects.

This trap is made of resistant plastic, with its two sides covered by long-lasting glue is non-toxic, water resistant and does not dry out in hot conditions.

Traps can be use in conjunction with insect pheromone lures.

The purpose of insect traps is to monitor pest populations so that effective management techniques can be timed to optimize efficacy.

Size

Card:10 x 25 cm

         25 x 40 cm

Color

Yellow, blue and black.

Use

The traps must be placed 10 cm above the crop with wire or rope holders, and must be raised as the crop grows up. The most suitable time to place the traps into the greenhouse is at the beginning of the season. The sticky trap is replaced when the number of captures is really high or when the sticky trap becomes really dirty from the dust. Traps should be checked at regular intervals throughout the growing season.

The sticky traps must be placed in areas where the risk of pest infestation is high, like greenhouse doors or ventilation openings.

The method of use

Use for monitoring purposes, the advised rate is 20 traps per 1.000 m². Traps should be checked at regular basis and captured insect numbers recorded. This number is important in determining the control methods and time.

Use for mass trapping purposes, the advised rate is 100-120 traps per 1.000 m².

Target pests

Yellow color: Whitefly, leaf miners, aphids and fruit fly.

Blue color: Thrips

Black color: Tuta absoluta (Tomato leaf miner).

Black sticky traps (25x40 cm) are essential in the detection of many species of flying pest especially tomato leaf miner in greenhouses. It should be used together with tomato leaf miner pheromone. Black sticky traps are more suitable especially in the areas of biological control. It is placed horizontally on a box 50 cm above the ground, with 10 traps per decare. Pheromone dispenser attached onto black sticky trap. The sticky trap is replaced when the sticky substance on the surface is completely covered with insect pests. The replaced interval of the pheromone dispenser in the traps depends on indicative diffusion of lure.
