Monitoring
-McPhail trap can be used.
-Trap density: 1-2 trap/da.
-Traps should be hung in east or south facing tree canopy in the shade at a height of 1.4-1.8 m.
-Traps are hung between March to November, depending on the product.
-The traps must be checked on a daily basis, and after the first adults have been captured, the traps must be checked every week. Captured insects are removed from traps.
-Insecticide can be applied after one week when the first adult fly is detected in the monitoring traps.
Mass trapping
-The traps are hung to reduce insect density.
-McPhail trap can be used.
-Trap density: 100 trap/ha. Traps placed at regular intervals inside the crop and its borders.
-Traps should be placed in east or south facing tree canopy in the shade at a height of 1.4-1.8 m.
-The traps should be hung about 45 days before the fruits ripening.
