Monitoring
-Pitfall type trap or multi-funnel trap can be used.
-Put 1 red palm weevil pheromone lure per trap.
-Trap density: 1 trap/ha. Avoid placing trap in direct sunlight.
-Traps are placed at the beginning of March.
-Traps are buried in the ground to the level of the side entrances or hung at a height of 0.5-1 m.
-The traps must be checked on a daily basis, and after the first adults have been captured, the traps must be checked every week.
Mass trapping
-Trap density: 10 trap/ha. When the palm trees are arranged, as avenues, put a trap every 50 to 100 m.
