The purpose of use: Monitoring and mass trapping
Monitoring
-Yellow sticky trap or McPhail trap can be used.
-Put 1 cherry fruit fly pheromone lure per trap.
-Trap density: 2 trap/da. Preferably it can be put one in the centre and the other one in the border in the crop.
-The traps should be placed in a southeast facing tree canopy and on the fruity branch at a height of 1.5-2 m.
-The traps should be placed when the cherry berries turn from green to yellow.
-The traps must be checked on a daily basis, and after the first adults have been captured, the traps must be checked every week.
-The treatments should be initiated after observing the first flights of adults.
Mass trapping
-Mass trapping is done in low and moderate density populations of cherry fruit fly.
-For mass capture the traps are hung when the first adult fly is detected in the monitoring traps.
-Yellow sticky trap or McPhail trap can be used. The trap should be placed in a southeast facing tree canopy and on the fruity branch at a height of 1.5-2 m.
-Trap density: 20- 30 trap/ha. Traps placed at regular intervals inside the crop and its borders.
