Characteristics
The delta trap is made of a durable, corrugated plastic that is UV and rain resistant. These are die-cut plastic sheet which when folded forms a triangular shaped trap. Inside a sticky cardboard is placed, and the pheromone lure is put inside this cardboard. The trap is hung with a rope or a wire. The sticky cardboard is replaced when the number of captures is really high or when the sticky cardboard becomes really dirty from the dust. The trap uses over several seasons due to strong material.
The purpose of use
It is used in conjunction with the pheromone lure to capture flying insects for monitoring and mass trapping.
Monitoring: With traps, the first adult emergence of target pests can be detected. Accordingly, the pest control time is determined.
Mass trapping: As soon as the first adult captured in monitoring trap, the traps are hung intensively at regular intervals. In this way, a large number of adult insects are caught. Thus reducing the caused damages on the crop.
To be considered for use of traps for mass trapping are as follows:
- The distance between the traps
- Number of traps required per unit area
- The replaced interval of the pheromone capsules in the traps depends on indicative diffusion of lure
The method of use
Delta trap uses: orchards, greenhouses, field, warehouses.
The traps hang about 10 cm above the crop. If the delta trap is placed in the trees, it hangs on the branch of the tree 1.5-2 m above the ground.
Traps are hung on the top of the products as close to the products in the warehouse.
Red colored delta traps catches fewer beneficial insect and bees compared to white traps, and yellow traps.

Moths (Lepidoptera): Tomato leaf miner, codling moth, european grapevine moth, meal moths etc.
